 Great Helmet for Bike, Scooter, or even Skiing September 28, 2009

Our 3.5 year old has been using this helmet since he was about 2. This should really say for ages 2 - 4 ... or there about. Everyone is different, so obviously this may not apply to your child. He has basically grown out of it at 3.5 years. That said, it was very easy to have him wear the helmet. He loves Thomas & Friends. This served us as a bike, scooter and skiing helmet (before we committed to buying a proper ski helmet at age 3).
The helmet saved our son a lot of pain over the year and a half he's used it. It really saved him once when he went over a curb on his bike and landed on his face in the street. The helmet stopped him from crunching his face. Just a small scrape on his nose and a big scrape on the helmet. Phew! Worth it right there.
Other times, it has just stopped him from enduring small lumps. Again, worth it. Overall, with the quality and fit, we are very happy with our Thomas & Friends helmet.

I bought this for my son's 2 yr birthday. He loves it although it is a little big for him but I was able to tighten up the chin straps so he can't take it off. He randomly likes to wear it around and looks adorable

I had the 3-wheeled Thomas scooter sent to my four year old grandson in AZ for his birthday. The helmet and safety pads were a must, but the fact that they went along with the Thomas theme was perfection.

Helmets and pads are great, but why didn't this come with two sets of pads??? How silly. I bought it anyway because I bought the Thomas bike for my son for his birthday and I looked other places and didn't find any Thomas helmets with 4 pads.

The helmet fits well for my 3 year old and seems secure. The knee pads are ridiculously small and completely non-functional. They don't even fit my 19 month old who is only in the 50th percentile growth-wise. If you are only buying the product for the helmet, I fully recommend. If you want knee pads, don't purchase this set unless your child has stick legs.
